My main research interests are the dynamics of recurrent neural
networks, cognitive robotics with a special focus on visual and
auditory processing, and evolutionary algorithms within an artificial
life approach. As leader of the Neurorobotics Research Laboratory
(NRL) my practical work also covers the whole field of
biomechanical construction, electronic circuit design, and firmware
programming. Further interests are computer music, digital signal
processing, and application of field programmable gate arrays. For
recreation I like inline skating or playing the piano. |
